Staying farewell in style

My grandmother was a really stylish old woman. Even when she was sick and when she got frail, she'd still always look perfect and she'd never go anywhere without her lipstick looking immaculate! It was hard to say goodbye to her because she was such a spunky old lady. I knew that she would want her funeral to be a reflection of her style and personality. The funeral did an awesome job and made sure every detail was perfect. It's never great to say goodbye to someone that you love that much, but knowing she'd approve of the funeral did make the day go a little easier.

Tips for Planning a Cremation Memorial Service

Losing a loved one is never easy, and planning a cremation memorial service can feel like an overwhelming task. It's important to plan a meaningful and personalized service that honors and celebrates the life of your loved one. If you're unsure of where to start, here are some tips for planning a cremation memorial service.

Choose a Location

The first step in planning a cremation memorial service is selecting a location. Consider a location that was special to your loved one. This could be a park, a beach, or a favorite restaurant. If you're looking for more traditional options, you could choose a funeral home, church, or community center. Don't be afraid to get creative and make the service unique and memorable.

Create a Memorial Tribute

One way to make a cremation memorial service special is by creating a memorial tribute. This could be a video tribute or a memory table with photos and mementos of your loved one. You can also create a memory book for guests to sign or leave messages of love and support for the family.

Personalize the Service

It's important to personalize the service so it reflects the life and personality of your loved one. Consider incorporating their favorite music, poems, or readings into the service. You can also ask friends and family to share memories of your loved one. This will make the service more meaningful for everyone in attendance.

Consider Reception Options

After the service, it's common for families to host a reception. Consider serving your loved one's favorite foods or hosting the reception at their favorite restaurant. If you're planning on hosting the reception at home, consider hiring a catering company. By doing so, you'll be able to prioritize quality time with loved ones instead of concerning yourself with the arrangements of food and beverages.

Consult with a Professional

If you're feeling overwhelmed or unsure about where to begin, it may be beneficial to seek guidance from a professional. Funeral directors and event planners are equipped to provide invaluable support during this challenging period. Not only can they assist you in planning a personalized service, but they can also offer solace as you commemorate the life of your loved one.

Planning a cremation memorial service can feel like an overwhelming task, but it's important to remember that the service should reflect the life and personality of your loved one. By following these tips, you can plan a personalized and meaningful service that honors and celebrates the life of your loved one. Remember to take care of yourself during this difficult time, and don't be afraid to ask for help if needed.
